The Department of Biomedical Informatics, Biostatistics and Medical Epidemiology (BBME) at the University of Missouri School of Medicine is a leader in health informatics education, and biomedical informatics, biostatistics and epidemiology research and service.

The department offers the University of Missouri's CAHIIM-accredited master's degree in health informatics (M.S.), as well as graduate certificates in health care project management, health ethics and health informatics. Students may pursue a master's degree on campus through our Residential Program or primarily online through our Executive Program for working professionals.

Our faculty members research, develop and support environments for the effective uses of biomedical data, information and knowledge for scientific inquiry, problem solving and decision making, driven by efforts to improve human health. BBME researchers secure federal, state and non-profit grants and industry partnerships to advance their work and the mission of the university, and health informatics research is one of the top areas of strength within the School of Medicine.
